Observation

It seems to me to be a general principle that if somebody appears as a great religious leader, and says to us that we should do such-and-such in order to tear apart society as it is and remake it in a better way, then after this leader has died a great religion will spring up, bearing his name and claiming to carry on his teachings, and it will solemnly instruct us that it is a sacred obligation on all of us to preserve society exactly as it is and has always been, and that in particular doing such-and-such is one of the greatest of sins.

The Internet Is Not Entertaining Me Enough!

Given the very limited space available on the Internet, I figure that every blog I find boring is taking up space and preventing some blog that I am interested in from existing. And there just isn’t enough interesting material to read on the Internet every day to fill my time.

At least, those seem to be the implicit assumptions behind this otherwise incomprehensible rant.

Ah, the Wonders of Technology

When I click on the link to the page, I’m told that before I can access it, I need to log in to my account. (That has never happened before, and I’ve been accessing these pages several times a week for years.)

When I try to log in to my account, I’m told that the password I used is not valid. Have I forgotten my password? I can enter my email address and my password will be emailed to me.

When I try to have my password emailed to me, I’m told that no account exists for my email address.

When I try to register a new account with that email address, I’m told that I can’t because an account already exists for that email address.

Irritable Thought

A corollary to Godwin’s Law would seem to be that as the blatant clarity of a parallel between some aspect of current events and Nazi Germany increases without bound, the probability that if a person happens to make the entirely obvious and relevant comparison, someone else will immediately scoff at it with a reference to Godwin’s Law, does not budge even infinitesimally from 1.00.
